In the Gulf Coast, all kinds of animals unique to other parts of the world were dumped via ballast water on ships. These animals are problematic to the native species that live, or use to live there and problematic to people who depend on the native animals for food and their livelihood.

Australian Spotted Jellyfish bloom in such large numbers that shrimp fishermen and women often have a slim catch of crustaceans, and a large catch of jellies. (The jellyfish are not highly regarded as a food item, at least here in the States, not much nutritional content.)
