These 3 Hippocampus' were made for a collaboration between Pyramid Atlantic, The Sargasso Sea Alliance and a number of artists who were invited to make art about the animals that reside in the Sargasso.

The title, "SEAhorse Latitudes" refers to the location of the sea. Back in the day when humans were the seafaring type, this location was called the dreaded horse latitudes because the weather was so calm, often boats would be stuck for days. It is thought horses were sacrificed to conserve supplies and water on board when stuck in the Sargasso.
