Plants utilize many different ways to spread pollen around, including the help of bats and moths. We always think of bees as pollinators but there are many animals that pollinate including lemurs, geckos, moths, ants, and more. This woodcut is part of a series of woodcuts and ceramics about unique pollinators. The flowers of the Saguaro cactus bloom for just one night and the bats do a perfect job of sticking their aptly shaped long noses into the flowers spreading the pollen from plant to plant.
The insects are hawkmoths who are particularly fond of desert dwelling daturas.
