Big beautiful autumnal piece of art. I love using bright reds and oranges in art.

Hummingbirds use spider silk in their nests for strength. When I heard this story I knew I had to make a woodcut about it. How cute is an image of a hummingbird grabbing bits of spider silk and building the tiniest nest with it? They also use bits of lichen and moss to make it extra soft. Bird nests are such interesting structures.

The species are rufous hummingbirds and the flower in the background are reminiscent of columbines, a favorite of these tiny amazing birds.

edition of 7 (I have some artists proofs that I could discount please inquire if interested)
