This is the last of the edition of 15 of this white deer woodcut. Please see photo number 4, there is a little bit of ink on the border but a mat will hide it for you, or I could frame it and you wouldn’t see it.
There is a population of Snow White deer at an old army depot in upstate NY. I’ve always wanted to make a woodcut about them because they are so unique! Their habitat is about 3000 fenced acres and this population has been within the fences for 70 years! A deer woodcut is a good subject for the holidays, frolicking through a poppy field, because poppies are one plant that deer don’t eat. And I love them.
